Is HDO Box still working?
There is no verified announcement that HDO Box has shut down worldwide, and one failed install on one device does not prove it has. Usually the cause is an outdated build, a temporary playback source, damaged local data, or an unrelated APK using the same name. Work through the checks below to find the layer that actually fails — and if you decide to move on, HDO FLIX is a separate, unrelated app covering the same need on Android.

Find the layer that is actually failing
These four checks take about four minutes and separate a broken app from a broken network, a dead source or a subtitle problem. Do them in order before installing anything else.
1 · Does the app open?
If it will not launch at all, restart the device, check free storage, and set date and time to automatic. A wrong clock breaks the secure connections most catalogs need.
2 · Does the catalog load?
Open the details page for two different titles. If nothing loads, the problem is before playback — switch between Wi‑Fi and mobile data to find out whether it is your network.
3 · Do sources appear?
Test an older movie and a recent episode. One title with no sources is not an outage. If the app offers more than one source, try a second one for the same title.
4 · Video or subtitles?
Play once with subtitles off, then select another subtitle track. This separates a video failure from a subtitle failure — they have completely different causes.
Why nobody can confirm a global HDO Box status
Several unrelated apps and websites use similar HDO names, so two people reporting “it is down” may be describing entirely different packages. That is also why installing the first file that carries a familiar name is risky: a higher-looking version number from an unknown site can replace your app with something unrelated. This page will not claim a permanent shutdown without an authoritative announcement.

Check the app, your network, the playback source and the subtitle track separately — the four checks above isolate which one is at fault. If several titles fail across two different networks, or you no longer have a trusted update source, moving to an app with a stated release and download page is the more reliable option.
Why do people say it stopped working?+
Reports rarely describe the same build. Several unrelated apps use similar HDO names, so two users can report opposite experiences truthfully. Individual playback sources also come and go constantly, which makes an app look broken on one title while it works on another.
Is HDO FLIX the same as HDO Box?+
No. HDO FLIX is an entirely separate app. It is not affiliated with HDO Box or its developers, and shares no code or servers with it. It is simply an alternative that covers the same need.
Do I need to uninstall the old app?+
No. The two apps are completely separate with different package IDs, so HDO FLIX installs alongside anything else without conflict.
Is the download safe?+
The APK is signed with our key and distributed from two official mirrors only: our GitHub releases page and the direct download link on this site. Do not install it from anywhere else.
A title will not play — how do I fix it?+
Try a different server from the list first — every title has several sources. If it persists, make sure the companion player is installed, update to the latest version, then write to us.
Is there an iOS version?+
Not yet — we are actively working on an iOS build and it will be available in the near future.
