Streaming App Showing No Links? A Layer-by-Layer Fix
When a streaming app opens normally but every title reports no sources, the app itself is rarely the whole story. Four separate layers can produce the same blank result, and each one needs a different fix. Testing them in order takes about five minutes and tells you whether the problem is yours to fix at all.
Start by proving it is not one title
A single film with no sources proves nothing. Catalog entries and playback sources are maintained separately, so a title can exist in the listing while no working source is currently attached to it. Open three different items before drawing any conclusion: a well-known older movie, an episode of a current series, and something from a different category entirely.
If all three fail, continue down this list. If only one fails, nothing is broken - that title simply has no source right now, and it may return later.
Rule out the network before touching the app
Switch from Wi-Fi to mobile data, or the reverse, and retry the same title. This one step separates the two most common causes. Home networks with custom DNS, a filtering router, or an ISP that blocks certain hosts will produce exactly the same empty source list as a genuinely broken app.
If it works on mobile data but not Wi-Fi, the app is fine and your network is filtering something. If both fail identically, move on.
Clear the cache - not the data
In Android Settings, open Apps, pick the app, then Storage, and choose Clear cache. This removes a stale local index without deleting your settings, history or downloads.
Leave Clear storage (or Clear data) as a genuine last resort: it resets the app to a fresh install and takes everything local with it. Most "no links" problems are solved by the cache alone.
Also check the clock. An incorrect date or time breaks the secure connections that source lookups depend on, and it produces an empty list rather than an error message. Set date and time to automatic.
Check the version, and where it came from
An outdated build is the single most common cause of a permanently empty source list. When the way sources are resolved changes, older builds keep asking the old way and get nothing back.
Be careful where the update comes from. A file with a higher-looking version number from an unknown site can be an unrelated app wearing a familiar name. Install from the developer's own release page and confirm the version number matches what that page states.
If several apps fail the same way
When two or three unrelated apps all stop resolving sources on the same day and the same network, the common factor is almost certainly the network rather than the apps. Test once on a completely different connection - a phone hotspot from another carrier is ideal - before reinstalling anything.
Where HDO FLIX fits
HDO FLIX attaches several playback sources to each title, so a single dead source does not empty the list - you switch to the next one from the player. It runs on Android 8.0 and newer, on phones, tablets, Android TV and Google TV. Subtitles cover 25 languages, and you can upload your own subtitle file or trigger automatic translation when no track exists for a title.
The current release is free, shows no ads and needs no account for normal use. It is not a fix for another app - it is a separate app you can judge on its own behaviour. Test the three titles you actually care about before deciding.
Frequently asked questions
Why does the app show no links for every title?+
Most often an outdated build, a filtered network, a stale local cache or an incorrect device clock. Test three different titles on two different networks first, then clear the cache and confirm your version came from the developer's own release page.
Does clearing data fix a no-links problem?+
Rarely, and it costs you every local setting. Clear the cache first - that resolves most cases. Treat clearing data as a last resort before reinstalling.
Is it my internet provider?+
It can be. If titles resolve on mobile data but not on Wi-Fi, the app is working and something on that network is filtering the lookup. Test a hotspot from a different carrier to confirm.
